The Future of Our Past
Harpers Ferry & Bolivar Historic Towns Foundation
Annual Meeting – Awards Ceremony – Live Entertainment
April 26th, 2018
Join us for our first Future of Our Past event. You’ll get to meet many of the people who help protect and promote the history we all share and get an early peek at what we’ll be doing to further our mission in 2018 and how you can get involved.
While you’re there you can add your voice in appreciation as we recognize Dennis Frye as he prepares to retire from the National Park Service after 32 years. Even if you don’t know who Dennis is you know the work he has done to make Harpers Ferry and Bolivar such special places.
You’ll also be present for a short piece of official business where board members are voted in and officers nominated. Please note, the previous sentence took as long to read as the official business is expected to last.
Then it’s back to the good stuff where you’ll be treated to a presentation of a study of the Zion Baptist Church by David Gibney and Sarah Polzin; both well regarded historic preservation professionals. They have worked on premier preservation projects at such distinguished projects including the White House and Presidential Libraries and the Smithsonian Institute.
Following the presentation the officialdom is officially over and you’re encouraged to stay for the live music performed by local favorite Mark Cullinane.
The evening will begin at 6:00PM on April 26th at The Barn of Harpers Ferry with informal socializing and wrap up at 8:00PM.
Everyone is invited to this free event where there’s something for everyone.
